In regards to #497, the truth of the matter is this:
Biologically, K is Phil’s father. Neither of them are quite sure about this - they’ve both been exposed to too much alien activity for DNA testing to show up quite right, and they have no record of when or where Phil was born, so there’s no way of tracking down his mother. He may not even be fully human, as far as they know, although Phil’s godfather assures him he is.
Phil was raised by his fathers, a black pro-mutant activist and an ex-secret service agent who served under Nixon.
